Paint Party FAQs
1. Do I need any painting experience to join a paint party?
Not at all! Every party is beginner-friendly. I’ll guide you step-by-step, and you’ll be amazed at what you can create, even if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before.
2. What’s included in the price of a paint party?
For in-person events, I bring everything you need—canvas, paints, brushes, aprons, and easels. For virtual events, you’ll get a simple supply list ahead of time so you can be ready to create with us.
3. How long does a paint party last?
Most paint parties run 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the group size, pace, and the design we’re painting.
4. How many people can join a party?
Private parties have a 10-painter minimum. After that, you can add as many extra painters as your space allows. Virtual parties are flexible—whether it’s a small group or a big team, we can make it work.
5. What kinds of events do you host?
Birthdays, team-building, fundraisers, bridal showers, girls’ nights, friends’ nights, community events, family reunions, holidays, virtual hangouts—if you can imagine it, we can paint for it!
6. Do you host paint and sip events?
Absolutely — many people know these gatherings as “paint and sip” events. At TJ’s Paint Parties, we welcome all versions of “sip” — whether that’s sparkling water, mocktails, coffee, tea, or your favorite beverage of choice. Our focus is always on creativity, connection, and fun, not alcohol.
We create safe, family-friendly, and inclusive spaces where everyone belongs — so whether you bring a latte, a soda, or a mocktail, you’ll leave with a painting you love and a memory you’ll keep.
7. How do I book a private party?
Easy! Just reach out with your preferred date, group size, and event type. A deposit secures your date, and the balance is due the day of your event. Click here if you’re ready to book now!
8. What if I don’t have a venue?
No worries—I can recommend local venues I’ve partnered with. Or, I can come to your home, office, or community space. For virtual parties, your screen is your studio!
9. Do you do fundraisers?
Yes! Fundraisers are some of my favorite events. We’ll split proceeds with your organization after covering supplies and helper costs, so you can raise money while having fun.
10. Can kids join paint parties?
Definitely. I offer kid-friendly designs and can adapt the pace for younger painters. Paint parties make great birthday celebrations or family nights.
11. What happens if we need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens! Deposits are non-refundable, but you can reschedule your party within 90 days, subject to availability.
12. Do you travel outside of Tucson?
Yes—this is what we do! TJ’s Paint Parties is mobile by design, and we love bringing the creativity wherever you are. Whether it’s another Arizona city, a road-trip stop, or even out of state, we’re ready to pack up the paints and come to you. Just let us know your location, and we’ll make it happen!
13. Can we choose our painting?
Absolutely! You can browse the gallery of painting options right here on the website. If you’d like something unique for your group, I can also design a custom piece for an additional fee.

What is a custom art kit?
A custom art kit includes everything you need to paint a meaningful image from your own photo. Simply upload your favorite photo, and I’ll transform it into a beginner-friendly painting experience.

Do I need painting experience?
Not at all! These kits are designed with beginners in mind. Each image is simplified while keeping the important details that make it special.

Can you combine multiple photos into one painting?
Yes! People, pets, or backgrounds from separate photos can be combined. Contact me before ordering so we can discuss your idea. Custom quote.
How long does it take?
Because each custom kit is created by hand, please allow approximately 14-21 days for production before shipping or pickup. If you need it sooner, contact me and I’ll do my best to accommodate your timeline.
Can I order a kit as a gift?
Absolutely! Custom art kits make thoughtful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, memorials, holidays, housewarmings, and pet lovers.
Can I order more than one kit from the same photo?
Yes! They're perfect for couples, families, long-distance friends, or group paint nights.
Will my painting look exactly like my photo?
No. The goal isn't to create a photorealistic painting. I simplify your image into a fun, beginner-friendly painting while preserving what makes it recognizable and meaningful.
Do you ship?
Yes! Shipping is available throughout the United States. Local pickup may also be available in Tucson, Arizona.

How long does it take to finish?
Most paintings take about 1½–3 hours, depending on your pace.
What ages are the kits recommended for?
Most kits are recommended for ages 10 and up. Younger artists can enjoy them with adult assistance.
Do I need any additional supplies?
Just a cup of water, paper towels, and a table to paint on.
Can I reuse the brushes?
Yes! Wash them with warm water and a dab of soap immediately after painting, and they'll be ready for your next masterpiece.
Can I paint at my own pace?
Absolutely! That's one of the best parts of an art kit. Paint whenever it's convenient for you.
Can I purchase multiple kits for a group?
Yes! Our kits are perfect for family nights, birthdays, team-building events, church groups, retirement communities, and girls' nights.
Do you offer virtual paint parties?
Yes! I can provide art kits for your group along with live virtual instruction or recorded instruction, depending on your event.
Not available with custom art kits.
What if my kit arrives damaged or something is missing?
Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your kit. We'll make it right.
Ordering & Policies
Can I cancel or return my order?
Because custom art kits are personalized, they cannot be returned or refunded once production has begun. Standard kits may be eligible for returns if unopened—please contact me for details.
Do you offer bulk or corporate orders?
Yes! I love creating kits for businesses, schools, nonprofits, employee appreciation events, conferences, and fundraisers.
Can I host my own paint party using your kits?
Absolutely! Order enough kits for your group and paint together at home, at work, or at your favorite venue.
Can you turn my pet into a paint kit?
Yes! I’d love to create a custom paint kit for your adorable pets!
One pet per art kit. Face forward is best; head shots only. Pet should be sitting up, not lying down or lying on its back.
Can you make a custom paint-by-number kit?
All of TJPP art kits are a pre-traced painting experience. Each kit comes with step-by-step instructions, focusing on a fun experience rather than a realistic portrait.
Can you create a memorial painting kit?
Yes, I’d be honored to be trusted with creating a special custom memorial kit of your loved one.
Can you make a wedding or anniversary paint kit?
This would typically involve more than one person and be better suited for a larger canvas than the typical 8×10”, so it would require a custom quote.
Can I upload my photo directly on the website?
Yes, on the art kit page, you will fill out the form and at the bottom is where you can upload up to 5 images.
Do you offer local pickup in Tucson?
Yes, I would be happy to arrange a local Tucson pickup in a safe, public area for your comfort.
Can children use the art kits?
Yes, there are themed art kits available for adults and children. While the art kits are all beginner friendly for all ages, you may request a custom kid-friendly image.
